Prior to the start of the school year, students will be issued textbook for all of their core content classes during Welcome Back Week. Students will receive two volumes of consumable ELA books, three volumes of the consumable Science books, a History textbook and a Math textbook. 

 

Purchasing Extra Books - while students do have lockers that they can store books in during school hours some families elect to purchase an extra set to keep at home. Please refer to the textbook list below and you can search online by the book title or the ISBN. We do not recommend one particular online distributor but there are several sites that do have gently used books available. 
 

Lost Textbooks - if students loses a textbook it must be replaced. Students can check in Student Services for the exact cost of the replacement books but generally the following applies:

Payments can be made in the Student Services Office and must be paid in cash or with a check made out to LAUSD.

Textbook Covers - Students can purchase textbook covers in the Student Store when school is in session.  All textbooks must be covered.

Stop Clearance Form - A Stop Clearance Form (SCF) is issued to students who are delinquent after textbook collection at the end of each school year.   A student is delinquent for one of the following reasons:

• Lost Textbook
• Textbook Damage

Students are required to return all Math and History textbooks, pay for damages and/or pay the replacement cost for lost textbooks. Failure to do so may prevent 8th grade students from participating in Culmination activities.
