welcome everybody Mr I meet you on the school principal or today will be talkin about next week's potential work stopping by a to the union with the last name is Andrew nearby school district have a presentation that has been given to me by the Los Angeles Unified School District which I sort of adjusted to meet Paul Revere and its needs and once again we are recording today second so if you a friend or another family that you know of at Revere who is unable to make today's meeting today's presentation will be on our school website later in the day back to it if you had any questions that you weren't able to ask during presentation questions in the chat and then after I'll go back to the shop and I'll answer as many questions as possible with as much as I know and I remember this is still very fluid situation one thing I do want to start out with saying is that we're in a lot better space now than we were two to three years ago our children have a very familiar with technology and zooming in and doing kings and queen asleep we also are I have been to a strike at least I have is an administrator so we are experienced in supporting our families during work stoppages Ministry so without further Ado I'm going to share my screen I'm going to bring up the presentation for today member questions in the chat with my I will dress at the end right hopefully everybody see what I'm saying and we'll start our presentation at the end sorry thank you question and answer that was great presentation you're welcome all right you here we go so we won't be addressing the school stoppage today's date is the 16th and she'll remember things may change now and the time for the strike there's today's agenda we're going to go over the background some of the timeline continuity of learning instructional resources and any division update that I've been given so looking at what we have in front of us is the local 99 is announced her intention for a three-day strike a strike would start on next Tuesday the 21st and go until the 23rd and advise their members not cross answers for the strike if the district is making plans to support students without virtual education mean it's not going to be a teacher on a screen like you see with me right now work would be provided asynchronously for those of us who remember our time on June pandemic asynchronous time is it time where the child works independently on Classics time so here's what the timelines look like we're going to be sharing our virtual schedule today we're also going to be ensuring that all students have technology to take home and then I'll be sharing with you any food service information that comes about remember food service at this point is pending there is no clear information I think a lot of families remember that you're in the graph during the pandemic there was a grab-and-go but it is my understanding The District's going to try to arrange those types of support for families whose children lie on the food distributed daily on the School site so this is what's going to happen during this fight all campuses are closed but the staff teachers and also and anybody from any of the Union's that uses two are welcome on campus in the schools will remain open School staff is going to be supported by our local region West in the central office they're going to help us with our office hours and I'll talk more about a little bit needs to be posted and they're here to assist families with questions and students with questions about the asynchronous resources to support our family hours will be from 7:30 a.m. for 4 a.m. or p.m. right just like a regular school day will be there answering questions the phone via Zoom and so on and so forth all this information will be on our school website and I will be Distributing it to our families through schoology so what would it be 11 to 9 a.m. whatever it'll be I'll be sending that out through school and Miss Bareilles are school administrative assistant what will be 8 to 10 got to be put out truly the right now office hours have not been set but we will make sure you have plenty of notification of that and I'll dress that again a little bit so what is continuity of learning instructional resources cycling here's what we do now we know that it in advance of the Striking students will be provided with asynchronous work for students complete independently during a strike what do you mean by that what I mean is that today at 2:15 I'm going to have a faculty meeting with my staff I'm going to request that my staff prepare for the strike by creating word for students to do if they should go forward with the stripe that means that little Tommy I am music on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday to go into mr. Harmony she's 7th grade social studies folder which mr. how many she post on a weekly basis and Mister how many she would have posted work for me to do for my social studies class over the next 3-day weather that's reading a chapter and answer some questions whether that's visiting a website and doing research whatever they work is the strawman issue would create it'll be there for this should the strike happen and should right famous Romani she doesn't provide that honors the strike and stays out and you know I can't force him to provide a synchronous work while he's on strike sister just created digital platforms to students to go in and do great appropriate subject appropriate work so they would have an opportunity to go in and there would be 6th grade math assignments following go in and there would be Ela assignments where would I find that information once again nation we shared with family Schoology will be posted on our website so my hope is that all of your children's teachers right will provide work for student if the strike happens and if the students are going to be at home all right and we can talk more about that in a little bit you look over there on the left there was talk of any paper packets home that's more Elementary School Revere students will not be show me staff member who reports to campus that uses to come into work and not stay at on strike will have individual office hours and I think many of you remember from the pandemic got your child add class is your first second and third. And then there was like a half hour 45 minutes where they could jump into mr. slavens office hours and ask questions about the asynchronous working to work they were given at home staff member that comes in will Santa Claus and they'll communicate our families through schoology schoology during this time so please make sure that your schoology in your child's family was school at this point of the Year Workforce in Sterling work stabbing familiar with it at this point show mr. slavens office hours maybe from 10 to 12 they may be from 1 to 3 whatever time they are and forever however long they are your smile your day be a mistress Levens class what happened Trinity jump in now this is not for instruction mistress leaving will not be instructing your child but he'll be answering questions just leaving I understand what you wanted what you mean by us going in reading the poem and then giving a annotated version of the poem what is that mean what are you asking me to do here appropriately or main office to post office hours Monday night others no reason to post it yet because the district is attempting to negotiate a settlement with the Union their meeting tomorrow I'm sure hoping that they need over the weekend and on Monday and so there may be resolution or Tuesday to the most appropriate time for us to post our office hours would be Monday night as far as the teachers go for those teachers that are participating and coming onto campus get there is a striped it would be casinos office hours Monday evening as well alright so let's move on a question and very end of this presentation for our schedule education students or students on the alternate curriculum the district once again is providing a resources these are links that families can go to to find a cities for their children to do at home and this will be sent out to you through schoology and now I wouldn't be sending you teach a 22 or great lover you would be getting information grade level 68 in addition for those students receive related services like speech therapy you know or a PE during the PE. would be sent out in the same way a link for families to continue with their OT Services their PT Services you know where their LAX and these links would be posted on our website and also sent out to families in those categories and once again for those students that need additional support here these links will be shared as well services support and then Food Services right once again there is no information is shared I can share with you about Food Services it's my understanding for our principals meeting yesterday it would be similar to the old grab and go hopefully we'll have that information for you shortly so when I get that information I will is everybody through schoology and we will post it on the website as well as our website we may just have one link call you know death takes you all the strike information rather than having to open multiple Pages thought you were just click on a link that would take you to these resources and these updates as well as me putting them out to Schoology it information all right so we're going to be dealing with technology and there's going to be a lot of glitches in the technology my son's iPad won't see this powering on the iPad I can't log into a sew and so's schoology account itd is here to support us but I want everybody understand that fortunes of ice some of their rank-and-file are members of the Striking unions go there dare it may be limited but this is what the district is offering that parents can use should they come up on technical difficulty for me office. myself and anybody else on campus that has it experienced what will be made available to our families as well either through phone or office hours I don't ever go now we're Frozen beyond the bell parents. I don't have any information on beyond the bell I know when our principals meeting yesterday for those family that we have family to God I will be on the Bell be providing you do a full day services for our families will they be providing afternoon supervision has not been shared with us yet when that information because available will make sure that our families know a lot of this information we just don't have you and I thank you very much for putting it on my brief presentation I'm going to open up the chat I'm going to stop. my screen and once again questions please put in the chat I do miss correct it may be on as well just can feel free to unmute yourself and answer any questions that you've already had an opportunity to read I can we turn off this. every time someone logged on if we were going to do that I would have done that already but thanks for asking Kevin strange you can't see the chat while I'm sure it was sharing the screen please turn off the chime next week's Cali trip polycast for pouting suit you could email pep activities at gmail.com I'll put that in the chat okay so probably tally trip please email with Justin's putting in the chat if a strike happens when we add on extra days in June great question that is not been determined yet the answer when we ask that question at the principal's meeting was well we didn't have them on when we have the 6th day strike still the possibility of us adding on 3 days is probably not going to happen but a determination has not been made on that yet if someone wants and staff online can someone please help me stranded turn off the audible alert that ain't happening will Sports competitions which are off campus be affected Sports coaches not part of the union and so on and so forth so that again screw cap and maybe email that quote Allah is not something that I have previous over assignments the district is providing assignments for all family whether families choose to participate in those aside or not is completely up to them when will you know about the strike school closures guys I think at this point we can assume the strike is going to happen appearing as if it is going to happen if it doesn't happen I'll be overjoyed but right now the expectation is if I'm a parent I'm making plans for next Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday what am I doing with my child I have to go to work who am I going to rely on these are the things that you guys should be thinking about now because the school will be closed in extending your child's you are campus so I would start preparing for the strike okay once again Pap is a question for Pap you can email them we're not sure about beyond the bell yet that information will be coming individual teacher I think we would be able to address the assigned work question their sole say your teacher doesn't post anything and schoology and there is no work for your job to do and then your child spends three days do we different provided work with the teacher accept that as gray be graded guys I can't answer that question because that was not covered in our meeting yesterday but I will take it to my district and get their answer so thank you for that question and I will do my best to find out that information for you and then I will share with their families at a later yep kids will not be penalized for missing school at least two questions once again go to email pep activities so once again great question how much time to students have to be given to complete these Diamond should they run into technical difficulties will be super flexible with our families and work based on technical difficulties illness so if your child is absent from school for 3 days because they have covid-19 needs to give them extended time completing any assignments during illness that's real son that I'm going to push with our staff my child couldn't log on for 3 days cuz your iPad we had his bogus Chaney Jr assignments now that we're back on campus that's what we would would request from all our teacher so that is what I'm requesting somebody said so to be clear you recommend that you should continue relevant teaching and a sign it before leaving yeah my hope is that our staff and they could have diamonds on a daily basis but I do know that you chili has requested that they not cross picket lines and they remain out so it's going to be in Dubai from our staff yeah thank you for the information I'll turn off the door. And will not affect their grade I don't want ever want to assume anything if the teacher is not assigned work though right than my expectation as a teacher's that I shouldn't be receiving any where the gray right show with mr. I knew she schoology page and there's nothing assigned Tuesday Wednesday Thursday next week the song you should be expecting his turn work in that the child did independently you could turn it in but then mr. I need you to say y'all reading them died in an assignment right now the district I don't believe to mandate that they accept at work but it's actually change I'll make sure all our families know so will the antagonist be from District or the teacher teacher but if the teacher doesn't assign any anything the district will be providing work and you can go into those links which will be shared with families later 3 schoology and your child will have appropriate grade appropriate Work video do you want to know the key takeaways from this easily number one if there is this right shoulder not reports Campus number to the schools will be available to answer any questions through office hours and through your phone calling us. Number three teachers will be requested to provide a synchronous work independent work to all students for those 3 days number for teachers who are on campus will be available through office hours to answer any student question and number 5 is very fluid and things may change between what I just told you right now and Monday evening all teachers be available during office hours good question if they're on campus will be asked to run their office hours then why are you on so my question is it that would be yeah Birds be longer than 3 days ago thank you for that question it's a three and done so there wouldn't be no extension of three days it's just me three days in your done let me see so he would somebody take away is Justin thank you good Valley Camp thank you parents strike with we already answer dad the song at the end of my question here is the bottom line keep up-to-date on the local news l.a. times has done a great job in covering this situation I will know before I will know if the strike has been averted you also know before I know that there will be a strike grease on schoology schoology on a daily basis and play please please please make sure your child iPad is working and functional when your child comes home today make sure they can log on to the internet make sure that they can access their teacher schoology pages make sure that they understand how did you all this because you don't want next Tuesday to happen to have your kids take any complicated bypass for those parents whose child even confiscated will be returned prior to next week so they all be returned by Friday regardless of whether or not the families come in to meet with any way to meet with the counseling office and get the iPad return presentation I've recorded it and watch it again later and be posting our school website for those who are the full time and you really like my Calvin and Hobbes in the background feel free to go back and watch it again you can see that as well so I wish everybody a peaceful day I wish everybody nothing but love and we will see you hopefully as soon as rather than later I am going to be ending the meeting now thank you
