Academic Awards
SEMESTER AWARDS
Awards certificates will be distributed in January based on the fall semester grades for 6th, 7th and 8th graders and in August for the previous Spring semester grades for returning 6th and 7th graders. Awards are as follows:
PRINCIPAL'S LIST
Students who are on the PRINCIPAL'S LIST have earned a 4.0 grade point average with no D's, F's or U's. at the end of the 20-week grading period.
HONOR ROLL
Students who make the HONOR ROLL have earned a 3.5-3.99 grade point average with no D's, F's or U's at the end of the 20-week grading period.
HONORABLE MENTION
Students who receive HONORABLE MENTION have earned a 3.0-3.49 grade point average with no D's, F's or U's at the end of the 20-week grading period.
8th GRADE AWARDS CEREMONY
8th Grade Awards is celebrated at the end of the school year. Students must be "invited" to the 8th grade awards night ceremony. Invitations will be sent home in April for the May ceremony. Criteria for receiving an invitation are as follows:
PRESIDENT'S EDUCATION AWARD
Students must earn a cumulative 3.5 grade point average or higher with no F's, D's or U's of 7th grade and the fall semester of 8th grade. Students must have been enrolled at Revere for at least two year and have test scores in the STANDARDS EXCEEDS range in both the MATH and ELA sections of the CAASSP or STAR testing.
5 SEMESTER PRINCIPAL'S LIST
Students must have been enrolled at Revere since the Fall of 6th grade and earned a 4.0 grade point average with no F's, D's or U's for those 5 semesters (6th grade, 7th grade and fall of 8th grade).
AEE AWARD
Students must have been enrolled at Revere since the Fall of 6th grade and earned a 4.0 grade point average with all E's for excellence in work habits and cooperation for those 5 semesters (6th grade, 7th grade and fall of 8th grade).
DEPARTMENT & SPECIAL AWARDS
Students will be nominated by the faculty to receive department awards and specialty awards, some of which will receive a scholarship.
LAUSD SEAL OF BILITERACY
LAUSD Seal of Biliteracy
The LA Unified School District has a diverse student body which represents more than 92 different languages spoken in LA Unified schools. The Global California initiative envisions that by 2030 half of California’s K-12 students will be enrolled in programs that will develop proficiency in two or more languages. 8th Graders that can show proficiency in one or more languages other than English can earn the Seal of Biliteracy.
Students must meet criteria in both of the following categories:

Show proficiency in English by:
-
Earning a "B" in English/ELD taken in 8th grade for the 15-week Spring semester OR
-
Earning "Standards Met" or above on the Smarter Balanced Assessment for ELA or California Alternate Assessment (CAA)

Demonstrate proficiency in a second language:
-
Completion of a World Language 1B LOTE course with the final grade of B or above for the 15 – week Spring Semester reporting period OR
-
Reading log documenting 10 or more titles of books, short stories, or articles read and an essay written in a second language in response to MMED prompt and scored using the MMED rubric OR
-
Previous school year overall score of 744 or above on the California Spanish Assessment (CSA) OR
-
Proficiency level met for another L.A. Unified – approved language assessment.
